MARK WOOD ROCKS TEXAS FOR TWO SHOWS ON SATURDAY OCTOBER 4

As part of his Electrify Your Strings! series of music education programs, Mark Wood will be working with the Space Center Intermediate School Orchestra just outside of Houston, Texas. The visit will culminate in not one but TWO CONCERTS!!

** A PORTION OF THE CONCERT PROCEEDS WILL BE DONATED TO FAMILIES OF STUDENTS IN THE DISTRICT WHO ARE RECOVERING FROM THE DEVASTATING EFFECTS OF THE RECENT HURRICANE SO PLEASE COME ON DOWN AND SHOW YOUR SUPPORT! **

MOBILE RECOVERY CENTER SHIFTS TO NEW SITE IN HARRIS COUNTY

THE DISASTER RECOVERY CENTER AT THE ANTOINE MEDICAL BUILDING IN HOUSTON HAS MOVED TO OUR LADY OF LAVANG CHURCH AT TWELVE-THREE-TWENTY OLD FOLTIN ROAD IN HOUSTON. THE CENTER IS OPEN NINE A-M TO SIX PM.

RESIDENTS AFFECTED BY HURRICANE IKE SHOULD FIRST REGISTER WITH FEMA BY GOING ONLINE TO WWW.FEMA.GOV OR CALLING (800) 621-3362.

FEMA needs help identifying Bolivar homes

FEMA is asking property owners on the Bolivar Peninsula for help.

The agency says it is having a hard time finding homes.

FEMA is asking people to spray paint their address on a piece of debris to identify their property.

They are also asking any residents who left a cell phone number as a contact to leave a secondary number due to problems with cell phone services.

Anyone with questions can call FEMA at 1-800-621-FEMA.

Nine PODs Opening On Wednesday

There are still PODS distributing supplies in much needed areas. On Wednesday, a POD in Stafford will open at Southern Ice Cream Corporation.

In Galveston, PODs will open at the island community center and at Academy Sports.

Chambers County will open sic PODs. They will be at the Winnie Community Center, Anahuac High School, Barbers Hill Middle School, Hank-Amer Community Building, Wallisville Community Building, and Smith Point Volunteer Fire Department.
